Pantry Calculators
Precisely make pantry staples at home
Published2026

I wanted to stop buying pantry staples like vanilla extract and begin calculating how much of each ingredient I would need to make better quality (and cheaper) versions at home for my own use. What started as a vanilla extract calculator grew into a collection of calculators for pantry staple recipes. Depending on which recipe and formula I wanted to use, I could easily deduce how much of each ingredient I would need to make the desired amount to fit into a container. Each calculator allows users to toggle between different formulas and adjust the desired output to get precise measurements for their homemade staples.
Some initial recipes I wanted to track were:
- vanilla extract
- mascarpone cheese (for my addiction to tiramisu)
- creme fraiche
- ricotta cheese
